A real alternative to university

Work-based learning means hands-on experience, tailored to suit you. On Scottish Water 2–4-year programmes you’ll learn skills you can only get on the job. And most importantly, you’ll be working towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ).

You may even want to stay on and pursue a career with Scottish Water. (That, by the way, is a very real option.)

What will you be doing?

During this 4 year programme, you’ll be learning everything you need to know about how Scottish Water treat waste water and return it to the environment safely. That means you’ll join an experienced team of field technicians responsible for maintaining District Metered Areas (DMA’s), controlling leakage and pressure levels within the water network, ensuring a strong focus on achieving Scottish Water regulatory targets.- working as part of an expert and experienced team who will support you to develop your skills and knowledge and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. This is your chance to learn as you earn, working with industry-leading teams to help deliver services that are essential to the daily lives of the people of Scotland.

What’s in it for you?
