Mark Zuckerberg founder of facebook give commitment to the facebook community. Mark zuckerberg said that he has founded facebook on the idea that people want to share and connect with people in their lives, but for doing this everyone needs complete control over who they share with at all times.

Complete control on everyone's account has been the core of Facebook since the day facebook started. When Mark Zuckerberg started the Facebook network few people use to have a public page on the internet and most of the people didn't wanted to have one. But with privacy, people feel safe on facebook sharing with their friends family and others. Control is the key which facebook has given to its user from the starting, and people had the tools they needed to control their profile. Because of this facebook has became the world's biggest community online.

Mark Zuckerberg also mention the new tools like sharing photos, creating groups, commenting on and liking your friends posts and recently even listening to music or watching videos together and all of these each of them have complete control over who sees everything that people share. Now for the control of privacy people share many more things then the past.

That said, I'm the first to admit that we've made a bunch of mistakes. In particular, I think that a small number of high profile mistakes, like Beacon four years ago and poor execution as we transitioned our privacy model two years ago, have often overshadowed much of the good work we've done.



I also understand that many people are just naturally skeptical of what it means for hundreds of millions of people to share so much personal information online, especially using any one service.  Even if our record on privacy were perfect, I think many people would still rightfully question how their information was protected. It's important for people to think about this, and not one day goes by when I don't think about what it means for us to be the stewards of this community and their trust.



Facebook has always been committed to being transparent about the information you have stored with us – and we have led the internet in building tools to give people the ability to see and control what they share. 



But we can also always do better. I'm committed to making Facebook the leader in transparency and control around privacy.



As we have grown, we have tried our best to listen closely to the people who use Facebook. We also work with regulators, advocates and experts to inform our privacy practices and policies. Recently, the US Federal Trade Commission established agreements with Google and Twitter that are helping to shape new privacy standards for our industry. Today, the FTC announced a similar agreement with Facebook. These agreements create a framework for how companies should approach privacy in the United States and around the world.



For Facebook, this means we're making a clear and formal long-term commitment to do the things we've always tried to do and planned to keep doing -- giving you tools to control who can see your information and then making sure only those people you intend can see it.



In the last 18 months alone, we've announced more than 20 new tools and resources designed to give you more control over your Facebook experience. Some of the things these include are:



• An easier way to select your audience when making a new post

• Inline privacy controls on all your existing posts

• The ability to review tags made by others before they appear on your profile

• Friend lists that are easier to create and that maintain themselves automatically

• A new groups product for sharing with smaller sets of people

• A tool to view your profile as someone else would see it

• Tools to ensure your information stays secure like double login approval

• Mobile versions of your privacy controls

• An easy way to download all your Facebook data

• A new apps dashboard to control what your apps can access

• A new app permission dialog that gives you clear control over what an app can do anytime you add one

• Many more privacy education resources



As a matter of fact, privacy is so deeply embedded in all of the development we do that every day tens of thousands of servers worth of computational resources are consumed checking to make sure that on any webpage we serve, that you have access to see each of the sometimes hundreds or even thousands of individual pieces of information that come together to form a Facebook page. This includes everything from every post on a page to every tag in those posts to every mutual friend shown when you hover over a person's name. We do privacy access checks literally tens of billions of times each day to ensure we're enforcing that only the people you want see your content. These privacy principles are written very deeply into our code.



Even before the agreement announced by the FTC today, Facebook had already proactively addressed many of the concerns the FTC raised. For example, their complaint to us mentioned our Verified Apps Program, which we canceled almost two years ago in December 2009. The same complaint also mentions cases where advertisers inadvertently received the ID numbers of some users in referrer URLs. We fixed that problem over a year ago in May 2010.



In addition to these product changes, the FTC also recommended improvements to our internal processes. We've embraced these ideas, too, by agreeing to improve and formalize the way we do privacy review as part of our ongoing product development process. As part of this, we will establish a biannual independent audit of our privacy practices to ensure we're living up to the commitments we make.



Even further, effective today I am creating two new corporate officer roles to make sure our commitments will be reflected in what we do internally -- in the development of our products and the security of our systems -- and externally -- in the way we work collaboratively with regulators, government agencies and privacy groups from around the world:



- Erin Egan will become Chief Privacy Officer, Policy. Erin recently joined Facebook after serving as a partner and co-chair of the global privacy and data security practice of Covington & Burling, the respected international law firm. Throughout her career, Erin has been deeply involved in legislative and regulatory efforts to address privacy, data security, spam, spyware and other consumer protection issues. Erin will lead our engagement in the global public discourse and debate about online privacy and ensure that feedback from regulators, legislators, experts and academics from around the world is incorporated into Facebook's practices and policies.



- Michael Richter will become Chief Privacy Officer, Products. Michael is currently Facebook's Chief Privacy Counsel on our legal team. In his new role, Michael will join our product organization to expand, improve and formalize our existing program of internal privacy review. He and his team will work to ensure that our principles of user control, privacy by design and transparency are integrated consistently into both Facebook's product development process and our products themselves.



These two positions will further strengthen the processes that ensure that privacy control is built into our products and policies. I'm proud to have two such strong individuals with so much privacy expertise serving in these roles.



Today's announcement formalizes our commitment to providing you with control over your privacy and sharing -- and it also provides protection to ensure that your information is only shared in the way you intend. As the founder and CEO of Facebook, I look forward to working with the Commission as we implement this agreement. Amazon is the world's largest online retailer with a stellar reputation for online support.

Apple still has the most apps in mobile, including over 100,000 specifically built to take advantage of the larger iPad screen and over a half-a-million for iPod touch. Amazon has built their own version of the Android market with less content but arguably better curation than Google’s.

You can also get a Kindle and other Amazon apps — and Google apps — for iPad and iPod touch, but you can’t get Apple apps — or Google apps — for the Kindle Fire.

The Amazon Kindle Fire is a brand new device and inarguably an immature one at this point. Amazon will no doubt introduce a new, hopefully much better, hopefully much more internationally supported, Kindle Fire sometime next year. If you’re not dying for one now, you might be better off waiting.

While this is an iPad and iPod touch blog, and we’re no doubt biased, the Amazon Kindle Fire is so new, so U.S.-centric, and so obviously intended to be little more than a front end to the Amazon Store that it’s tough to recommend. Future versions could be outstanding, but right now you have to really not want an iPad or iPod touch, and really want an Amazon tablet to get the Kindle Fire.

1.     The iPad is best if the big size is a plus and not a minus for you, if you want the most apps optimized for the most screen real-estate, if you want 3G connectivity, and something that can better replace a laptop or netbook for light computing work.
2.     The Kindle Fire is best if you live in the U.S. and are a heavy user of the Amazon Store, if you want something smaller, lighter, and cheaper than an iPad but bigger than the iPod touch, and if media focus and pocket-ability is more important than flexibility for your needs.
3.     The iPod touch is best if you want the smallest, lightest, cheapest, most mobile solution possible, if you want the most app and accessory choice available, if you want something that’s as close to a phone-style experience that possible without being a phone.

According to news an 18 years old male student who is studing in Berlin Eisenhower High School in New Berlin which is in Waukesha Country about 15 miles west of Milwaukee opened a fake account on Facebook as a girl, this guys has tricked more then 31 male classmates so that they send him naked photos of themselves and then blackmailing some for sex acts.

Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel said Wednesday "The kind of manipulation that occurred here is really sinister in my estimation".

Anthony Stancl, of New Berlin, was charged Wednesday with five counts of child enticement, two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of third-degree sexual assault, possession of child pornography, repeated sexual assault of the same child and making a bomb threat.

Stancl's attorney, Craig Kuhary, said Stancl plans to plead not guilty to the charges and hopes to reach a plea agreement with the district attorney

"It's too early in the case for me to make a statement, other than the fact at some point we are going to go into events that had taken place earlier that might have had some impact on what he did here," he said. He wouldn't go into specifics.

The incidents allegedly happened from spring 2007 through November, when officers questioned Stancl about a bomb threat he allegedly sent to teachers and wrote about on a school's bathroom wall. It resulted in the closing of New Berlin Eisenhower Middle and High School.

According to the criminal complaint, Stancl first contacted the students through the social networking site Facebook, pretending to be a girl named Kayla or Emily.

The boys reported that they were tricked into sending nude photos or videos of themselves, the complaint said.

Thirty-one victims were identified and interviewed and more than half said the girl with whom they thought they were communicating tried to get them to meet with a male friend to let him perform sex acts on them.

They were told that if they didn't, she would send the nude photos or movies to their friends and post them on the Internet, according to the complaint. Stancl allegedly used the excuse to get the victims to perform repeated acts, the complaint said.

Seven boys were identified in the complaint by their initials as either having to allegedly perform sex acts on Stancl or Stancl on them. The complaint said Stancl took photos with his cell phone of the encounters.

Officers found about 300 nude images of juvenile males on his computer, according to the complaint. Prosecutors said the victims were as young as 15.

A preliminary hearing for Stancl has been scheduled for Feb. 26. The maximum penalty if convicted on all charges is nearly 300 years in prison.

Wednesday on SharesPost auction facebook value was closed at $30 per share, which is dropped 6.25 percent as before. This is the fourth consecutive time when facebook value has taken a dive.

But Facebook still got 2.5 billion outstanding shares o market, and the company's value is to be $75 billion, as down from $80 million at the end of October, and in Septermber it was $82.25 billion and $82.5 billion in AUguest.

The auctions had plateaued earlier this year at $35 per share, before beginning a slow decline in late summer.

The SharesPost results seem to contradict other data: reports of doubling revenues for the social networking site, a successful F8 developer conference, growth in its lobbying and public affairs operation,  a very successful  partnership with Spotify, and enhanced privacy features.

All of these factors outside of the SharesPost pricing trends would point toward a possible initial public offering of stock sometime in 2012. But the last four auctions of Facebook stock seem to indicate that an IPO needs to wait.

Then again, Facebook shares are still highly coveted. The demand is so strong that one Florida fund manager decided he couldn’t wait for a Facebook public offering and launched one of his own making.

John Mattera of Fort Lauderdale, was accused of promoting phony access to shares of Facebook and Groupon, according to a report in Reuters.

The U.S. government said that $4 million of the $11 million that was invested with Mattera went to such luxury items buying cars and jewelry, paying personal taxes and settling a private civil fraud lawsuit.

The criminal complaint filed in Manhattan district court yesterday charges Mattera with securities fraud and money laundering. He faces up to 20 years in jail if convicted.

The news of this charge came a day after the latest SharesPost auction and therefore didn’t influence the closing price in any way. Private market sales of Facebook stock occurs on a monthly basis, so it’s possible that investors might remember Mattera when bidding on the next round of shares.

Recently facebook and paypal announced the launching of a new Facebook application that will allow facebook users to send money to other Facebook friends account. This new application called Send Money Facebook users will able to attach a payment to an e-card along with a greeting message to celebrate an event or simply for sending money without a message as well. Paypal has included 22 different types of catagories of e-card with all the important holidays like thanks giving and Christmas, occasions such as anniversaries and weddings in addition to cards for friendship as well.After giving Paypal authorization to access to your friend list, all you need to do is type the name of your friend name into the form in addition to an email address to send payment thought paypal to Facebook. After the verification of the payment, it will be send immediately to the Facebook user account.

"Send money to friends and family with PayPal, and include a customized greeting card for that personal touch. With hundreds of cards to choose from, paypal have the perfect card for any occasion.

Paypal send money is the fast, secure, and social way to send money for gifts, special events, or any occasion. The Send Money Facebook app provides the same level of security trusted by million of PayPal users."

You will also have option of creating an automatic post on the friend wall mentioning the payment. Any message that you have attached in the payment send time will be delivered through email and will be kept private.There are other applications which allow the paypal money sending, but this new application is the first peer to peer payment application using both Facebook and Paypal. Identical to sending payments between Paypal users, there will be transaction fee between users if the fund is in paypal account or linked to a bank account. But international fees and fees to credit card payments still apply when sending money through the Facebook application.

Paypal hopes to take advantage of the 500 million e-card annually that are send annually according to the Greeting Card Association. There will be no fee to include one of the e-cards with the monetary gift.

Facebook news feeds are most important part of our daily life, because we get all of news of our friends updates like photos, status, comments on news feed. So, after latest update of news feed that we all know now we have two options to choose either the important or major updates of your friends Highlighted Stories First. Acquaintance:a person known to one, but usually not a close friend. That means you can now make list of your different friends. Add all your close friends to Close Friend list. Add your family members to your Family List. Area will be added default so you do not have to add your friends to Area. but if someone lives near you but his location is different in the Location information of facebook you can also manually add your friends to Area. Sometimes group notification is annoying. As Facebook said “Trusted Friends will let you select three to five trusted friends who can help you if you ever have issues accessing your account,” Facebook’s security blog said today. “Facebook will send codes to the friends you have selected, then you can log back into your account using those codes.”
Now users need to be very careful while choosing their friends to share their codes with, however, because the social network does not say whether people contacts will be able to use the codes to enter friends pages themselves.

App Password: This new feature will give Facebook users a new way to give App password a unique password to use with third-party apps only.Users will able to generate the passwords randomly as necessary and enter them in place of their regular Facebook passwords when they use Spotify, skype or any other random apps that allow them to log on through Facebook.
So, when they do not like any app or think it is unsafe for their account they can simply block the app by deleting the password they have generated for the particular app.This special passwords may also keep people from accessing others Facebook accounts through third-party app, a growing concern as more apps connect through the social network websites.
