Ever had an experience of having a picture and not knowing a thing about it ? Well, you won’t have problems of that sort again, because Google Image Search can now get image input and search for anything related to that. Sounds interesting, ain’t it ?
So lets say you have a photo and want to know all about it, what you’ll do ? Share it with your friends in Social networks or forums and ask them about it. Now Google provides an added feature in its Image Search engine which searches for your image and provide you with all related information about it. So how do you use it ?

Using Google’s Search by Image Feature

#1.Drag and drop:Drag and drop an image from the web or your computer into the search box on

#2. Upload an Image: On, click the camera icon, next to the search images button, then select “Upload an image.” Select the image you want to use to start your search.

#3. Copy and Paste the URL for an Image: Right-click the image you found on the web to copy the URL. On, click the camera icon, and “Paste image URL”.
#4. Using Extension: Firefox and Chrome have an plugin/extension to use this feature. If you have the respective plugin/extension installed, you can start searching directly by right clicking on the image you found online and clicking “Search Google with this Image”.
How it Works ?
Google uses computer vision techniques to match your query image to other images available in the Google Images index and also to additional image collections. From those matches, Google tries to generate an accurate “best guess” text description of your image and also find other images that have the same content as your search image. Your search results page can show results for that text description as well as related images.

The Results Page

When you search by image, your results will look different than the normal Images or Web results page. The biggest difference is that your results can include non-image results like webpages that seem related to the image that you searched for. The elements of your results page will change depending on your search and on the information that’s most related to that search. All this done in a matter of few seconds with Google’s Amazing computer technologies.
Hope you liked the new feature ! Try it here and share your views with us !
